Meet Your Commercial Capital Net Branch Management Team
Jay Estis, Branch President & Chief Marketing Officer
Professionally, Jay began his career working for Miami-Dade County as a Police Officer, eventually taking on the role as a Field Training Officer, responsible for training new Police Officers. Jay then moved on to a position of Detective in the Criminal Intelligence Unit.
He retired in April 1992 after being injured on the job. After retiring from law enfiorcement, Jay spent the next 8 years investigating insurance fraud for several large insurance companies.
In 2000, after losing one of his brothers to cancer, Jay felt a career change was in order.
Jay left behind the comfort of a 9 – 5 job, which while he loved and was very good at, was beginning to feel stale and unexciting.
That’s when he took the plunge into commercial real estate. Jay was responsible for developing his own commercial real estate project involving the ground up construction of a gas station, convenience store, full-service car wash and full service, eat-in deli restaurant.
Having experienced the commercial mortgage process as a borrower, he now has a very real sense for what you will be going through as a borrower and business owner.
“I found the process to be long and arduous. Nothing like getting a residential mortgage. I spent a lot of time putting together what seemed like endless amounts of information. But experiencing that process firsthand has made me a better Commercial Real Estate Professional today, said Jay”
Unfortunately, while he successfully developed the commercial real estate project, and the business did open, the project ended as a failure.
“Sometimes you learn more from your failures than you do your success, and that’s how I always look back on this project. It was the ultimate preperation for what eventually became my Commercial Real Estate Financing career, said jay”
When the business closed Jay had little time to decide what was next. The residential mortgage industry was poised to take off, so he thought with his business experience it would be a logical step.
Within a short amount of time of starting in the mortgage indystry, Jay rose quickly and within his first year moved from Loan Officer to Sales manager, in charge of a staff of 35 Mortgage Professionals.
As the refinance boom began to slow down, Jay realized it was time for another move. “In the last year in the residential mortgage business I had the pleasure of meeting one of my peers, and we just hit it off right away, said Jay”.
Although Tony Jones was located in another State, Jay and Tony remained in constant conact as their friendship grew.
Once the residential market appeared to be ready to collapse Jay made his move into the Commercial mortgage industry and struck out on his own. Shortly afterwards he joined the ranks of the Commercial Capital Branch Partners.
“As I found the Residential business slowing down I quickly realized I needed to expand my offerings, and that’s when I decided to move into the Commercial Mortgage side of the business, said Jay
“As a Net Branch President for Commercial Capital Ltd. I am extremely fortunate to be associated with such a high quality organization.
“It didn’t take long before I realized I needed help. There was really only one person I would consider partnering with in the Commercial Real Estate Financing industry, and that of course was Tony Jones.
When you are about to embark on an opportunity like this, you want to surround yourself with the best people possible, and for me that was Tony. It really was a perfect partnership.
Tony and I each have our own strengths, and ours compliment each other. When you have someone of Tony’s character as your partner, and he’s also your friend, you know you have what it takes to serve your clients at such a high level.”
On top of that, when you think about the market we are in, and the number of Lenders who have left the business, you can only be impressed when you see a company like Commercial Capital Ltd. growing by leaps and bounds over everyone else in the industry, said Jay.”
On the personal side, Jay has been married to his beautiful bride, Jennifer, since October 1993. They have two wonderful kids, daughter Hannah, who is 16, and Zachary who is 12. And their youngest, Molly, a somewhat big miniature Dachshund, is soon to be 8.
Tony Jones, Branch Vice President – Chief Operations Officer
Tony’s background began in the Technology Industry, where for just over 14 years he worked in Human Resources, Sales Operations, Finance and Informatioin Technology.
After retiring from the Technology Industry Tony decided to take the plunge in the Residential Mortgage industry, where he opened his own Net Branch.
For over ten years Tony owned and operated a successful and highly profitable Residential Mortgage business. “It was sometime in my second year in the Residential Mortgage business that I began to close my first Commercial Real Estate transaction, said Tony”
The demand for Commercial Real Estate Financing grew from there, and Tony began to put more of his focus on the Commercial side of the business.
For the next seven years his Residential Mortgage business ran like a well oiled machine on auto-pilot, and Tony dedicated himself to mastering the more complex Commercial Real Estate transactions.
“I felt like it was time for me to refocus my passion and move to a more challenging area of finance. Being able to work with Business Onwers, Entrepreneurs and Investors, to help them realize their dreams, was something I was drawn to, said Tony”
